Funny thing that I read a very similar story last year: it was the README of the window manager stumpwm, which was written in Common Lisp.

The current trends shown by Big Software is to use XML for all data formats. It won't be long before we have XML interpreters, XML data being interpreted as functions:
I predict within 2 years Big Software will announce the Next Big Thing: XML++. An Object Oriented language with all the advantages of the superior XML data format coupled with modern advancements in Server side Web based technologies. XML Code and XML Data will be almost interchangeable, except for some tweaky markup which will be justified by the need for more aggressive innovative content creation services.
In your case I'd probably choose docbook, but if you're just looking for a way to automatically setup the links between several XML documents you might take a look at w3make
(which I wrote) or a similar project called
XWeb which was written by Peter Becker.
Living in several networks I like to have intuitive signal where I am by first making the hostname standout (colored) and second using different colors in different networks.
This is one of them
\[\033]0;\h:\w\007\]\u@\[\033[1;34m\]\h\[\033[0m\]:\W>
when you're working in a company taking a close look at security issues it comes to mind that one could encrypt the binaries and sources and start s program that needs to run in ramdisk. Thus it will be destroyed whenever someone tries to lay hand on the computer...
There has been a short discussion on this a while ago in com.emacs.xemacs (which I actually started;). So, there ARE people interested in this and there ARE people in contact concerning this. But the ones who know what they are talking about say it will be a hell of a work to do this... IF it will happen, it will take quite a long time, I think (the more I'm involved the longer the time *g*). Go and read the archived NGarticles at http://www.xemacs.org/list-archives/xemacs/
I can read and comprehend german texts quite fast, as german is my native language. When reading english texts it's quite hard to view at whole phrases to keep up the speed. It's even harder to remember things right and follow the lines of thought.
Anybody experience with this? Anybody got an answer _beside_ improving my english;)

What's your point? North America is more important than anything else? Now, YOU get emacs, bash andsoforth running with german umlauts, 8bit charset and stuff. I'd like to see RH or any other us-distro shipping databases of typical german providers so you just choose one and PPP works. Now, you go and get ISDN stuff working fine...
Maybe some of the OSS projects will go down, probably others will arise.... Stability is a question of moving, not unlimited growth. Take a look at evolution...
