So, a lot of people mentioned that if a webclient supported encryption then all would be well. However, this is very flawed.
Hushmail for example launched, and everyone was very happy that it launched with PGP support... What noone realizes is that you must store your private key on their server to make it work. As such, hush mail can now see all your mail. You are dependent on them being reliable with your information. This makes it no different then GMAIL.
AND Because the security isn't really there, it makes it MORE dangerous. If I believe that no one can read my messages except the intended reader, there may be reveal information that I would other wise not write in email form. This creates a false sense of security, for both the user of such a service, and the people who send encrypted mail to them.
Without webclient support, which is near impossible. Then it becomes near impossible to make widespread. People don't really use think clients.
What many people don't realize is that cable vision has an all fiber network. And watching that guys setup, fios is the uses the same method as CV. Cable Vision just does the fiber to coaxial at the pole. If was a fiber line that went directionally into the home and into my modem I would be impressed. Also I made add that I get 30mbps (3.2MB/s) down and 3mpbs(340KB/s) up with CV for 55.
Also verizon brings me nothing bad news. I had verizon dsl, I switched to another caires business class, and as I was canceling my verizon setup they said they where going to give better speeds for cheaper. Believing this, I canceled my business class order. Verizon lied. I was still the same speed. 45 dollars a month for 60KB/s down 10KB/s up.
After looking at the pictures of the install, I am disappointed at verizon. I though it was fiber to the home, not fiber to the outside of my house.
Also if any has a brain think of what happens in an apartment building.
This idea isn't as bad as everone says it is. Patching and junk is possible. And havving no other programs running, I fail to see how that is bad.
1) So much less ram is being used.
2) Developer can do so much more knowing that nothing will stop him.
3) If you F up your computer Direcx or any other part of your computer it still will run the games.
I would love the idea of a GAMING OS, while it would be a boot OS, it would have HD parts, so correct drivers and such are not a problem.
The 1 and ONLY problem with a boot OS is drivers, if you can't get them, everthing falls apart, but other then that its great.
