I can't imagine why console manufacturer would want to deal with that kind of stuff. Wouldn't it then just become a computer game that you can't play with out first purchasing a "PS3 License"?
I go to Purdue University, and they offer Ctrax. I figured I would try it one day, but as soon as the hideous interface came up I closed it and never thought about it again.
