    It's simple science.

The article did not point out the problems with the original claims. The article simply said that , "...claims of fusion reactions in a tabletop experiment were dismissed by nuclear physicists..." The article did not point out that noone could reproduce the results. That's important.

This new claim is interesting but sounds like it is given to fanciful intrepretation. You need to definitively show fusion of deuterium and tritium atoms. Without that it's sheer speculation because other processes can produce high-energy neutrons; it's not unique to a fusion process.

If they had been regulated, the toxic securities would not have blown-up. Because you see, a credit default swap is nothing more than insurance on a bond. However, the entity providing the insurance on the bond was not required to have enough asset to cover the value of the bond they were insuring! So company A could with $500 million in assets could cover a bond worth $10 Billion.

If they review your work, a group of peers in your area review the research you conducted and typically will have follow-up questions. Assuming you did not make mistakes in your research and the follow up questions were properly addressed, your research article will be published.

It's that simple. The problem is, it's very competitive. Lots of articles are submitted for publication. But that's also why there are hundreds of journals. There's no mystery.

  25. Re:Valid election? on Can Static Electricity Generate Votes? · · Score: 1

You are either Steve Balmer or a gigantic idiot. The problem with electronic voting machines has been the ability to certify them as accurate voting counting devices. In order to certify them you need to look at the source code to see how the machine functions. Diebold and other manufacturers prevented investigators from looking at the source code because they claimed it would violate their trade secrets. Thus these machines could not be properly certified.

So the issue is with the ability of a State to verify and certify these machines as proper vote counting machines. It doesn't matter if it's open source or not.

Open Source was NEVER part of the argument for or against electronic voting machines. The issue has always centered around the ability to determine if these machines were reliable.
