Listen ass-hole, keeping pipes from freezing is one of the reasons you heat your home. So yes, your heat not working is a cause for alarm. Do you have any idea the damage burst pipes can cause. Fuck off.
What the hell is the problem Potsy? Someone sees an accident and posts a picture of it? That's a problem? It happens all the time. There's nothing ghoulish about it - it's what happened. What's next, no pictures of of a cop beating someone?
Of course the computer scientists at University of Pennsylvania who are in bed with the NSA, fail to grasp the fundamental problem. It has very little to do with the data mining they suggest they found a solution for. The simple problem is: THEY ARE COLLECTING DATA FROM EVERYONE! Earth to Potsy, that's the problem. The NSA is collecting information from EVERYONE and storing it regardless of value.
Sheep can't read....and no damn all about history. They don't understand that Amendment was necessary because the United Stated HAD NO STANDING ARMY. In fact they were opposed to it. Hence "regulated militia" and the need to be able to "bear arms." Once the United States had a standing army, that provision was no longer necessary.
I think you answered your own question: you're a Delphi shop. The lead programmer just wanted to justify his decision. It happens when people feel threatened or don't want to change.
Actually there are laws that apply in this situation. At issue is harm. The judge decided that since the plaintiff was not out any money - the credit card company did not pass on the fraudulent charges - no harm was done. The problem with this decision is that a crime was committed. At issue is whether or not Michael's is protecting their customers credit card information. As has been stated, without any pressure, merchants have no motivation to improve their systems. Merchants need to be held responsible.
Really? Kind of depends where you use the credit card and how many systems you have to update, not too mention you need to worry what other things they are doing, like identity theft.
She did. Her credit card was used in two instances. The fact that the credit company would eat those charges - changes nothing. The card was fraudulently used. But I love how we have other laws and legal actions that corporations can claim damages they might occur - but haven't - and judges award them damages.

What part of "you should not expect reliability" did you not understand....

Exactly!

Ummm, actually banks see nuclear power plants as risky investments. Hence why interest rates are high and why many banks won't provide loans.
You know that C# is Java knock off.
You're an idiot. The company that is bitching about not enough coders contributed to the decline of coders by not including BASIC with Windows.
A true genius. https://www.youtube.com/watch?...

Who would thought it would prompt people to threaten to burn down a store for selling them! Hmmm stand your ground law maybe....
So the United States owns Boeing and Lockhead Martin....who knew...
Sorry but you are no genius just somebody who likes to rant.
He was referring to teachers ass-hole.
Yeah cuz teaching computer programming to a first grader is more important than reading. Moron.
I think you answered your own question: you're a Delphi shop. The lead programmer just wanted to justify his decision. It happens when people feel threatened or don't want to change.
By that logic Quantum Mechanics isn't that impressive. In case you aren't aware - programming languages evolve over time.
C# is Java - so no it's not better and no it's going to replace it.
And they are unlikely too sue. So nothing changes. This is why the judge is an ass-hat.
Ever hear of pain and suffering....monetary awards for psychological damages happen all the time. Moron.
