Is it something about hardware or software or network or all together? Is it something that would let you help Scribus developers with bug reports/feature requests?
If you take a time to read Roadmap for Scribus (available on http://www.scribus.net), you will see that there will be lots of changes in 1.3 branch including native format redesign. After that it will be easier to deal with other XML-based formats.
The comprehensive manual en English is a work in progress.

Scribus supports colorsets, which are extremely easy to be made. If you own a license, you can make a pantone colorset and add it to Scribus.
Scribus developers have agreement with Inscape developers to have common format for colorsets. Guess what for:)
