Apperantly, they have made setups where you have an 802.11b network LAN with a EV-DO WAN, and have it all fit in a backpack for "mobile hot spots"
i don't think the electric bike is driven by a desire for green transportation, but it just happens that the particular form of transportation is desireable compared to a standard bicycle, and considerably cheaper than alternative forms of "private" transportation in that country. The average motor vehicle is still considerably expensive for the average chinese urbanite. (let's not even consider the rural economy here).
Besides, as a person pointed out in an earlier post, the electric bikes are only as effective as the power plants that produce the electricity.
In china, a large portion of air pollution is still sourced from coal burning used for power production. china needs to improve the efficency and conditions of it's plants before the use of electricity is considered green.
Oddly enough..I'm sitting in a grad school seminar....on my laptop....yah....I probably have ADHD.
On the flipside, our school has wireless all over (indoors and out) and the problem that can occur is that people just start getting distracted in class with the internet.
It's clearly going to be a problem towards concentration if these elementary school students have access to network connectivity with their laptops. Tha twould be something that needs to be controlled.
I can imagine parents suing the school district for carpel tunnel, porn "shock", and other various things
Back in the early-mid 1990s, our high school was endowed with HP 48G and GX calculators (gift from HP). I've been using RPN ever since.
In any case, IR 2 player tetris got me through those boring Chem AP classes!
The TI calcs are hands down crappy compared to the pure power an HP science/engineering calculator.
People want something free (a GB of free mailbox space in this case) at someone else's expense and then criticises about the possible tradeoffs involved?
If you want content privacy, you shouldn't be using a free web account to begin with.

LLNL and LBL are part of UC. They do alot of bio research there. If I'm correct, the majority isn't even related to nuclear research at both labs.
