    Knowledge is only half the battle, and separates the noobs from the seasoned players. At the pro level, you can assume that everyone already knows all there is to know about the mechanics, and it boils down to dexterity, wits, and cleverness.

    Keep in mind that the $5 cost is to offset come costs of this new technology, and I expect the costs to drop dramatically if the technology sees some uptake. After all, it doesn't LOOK that expensive to manufacture.

    Which is why we need to move on to LED lighting, or something similarly durable. You can run over these things and have them still work (sometimes).

    Parent is Insightful? More like Troll. Of course, no survey is perfect, and no survey is unbiased, but that doesn't mean they are wholly without merit. It sounds like you are just yelling at this guy because you don't like the results.

    We operate under the law here. Not lynch mobs. You can't just throw someone in jail because everyone hates her, or the whole system we have put into place to establish justice is evaporated.

    It's probably the case that no children were actually molested. But that doesn't mean no children were harmed. Perhaps there was no physical harm to the children, but I'm sure there will be damage to the reputation of these children if the pictures become widespread. It libel in picture form, particularly if it was done without the permission of the children.

    They can get away with it because all the statements are sufficiently subjective and non-quantifiable to fall under any sort of false advertisement. You'll see this all the time. Our product x is better than the competition. These aren't facts at all, but just marketing crap.

    Basically, you don't have to defrag an SSD. Traditional file allocation schemes assume that sequential access is better, so defrag software tries to order files to land on sequential positions. But in an SSD, there's no need for that.

    When I can stick a USB magnetic platter drive that is smaller than my thumb in my pocket and not worry about it breaking into pieces or when I can insert and remove them into my camera/phone, then you can say that traditional drives have caught up with SSD. And as the world goes netbook, netbooks have a lot to gain from compact, robust, low-power, silent storage.

    Num Lock useless? I guess you don't do much number entry. It's a lot faster to type numbers with a numpad, and you only need one hand. My biggest gripe with laptop keyboards is the lack of numpad.

    Assembly language is almost always totally impractical to actually use, but gives tremendous insight into what a computer is and what the limitations are.
