I also use powermarks - the keyword search is like a mini-google search just in your bookmarks that updates as you type (like google suggest). It will even sync across the web so you can get your bookmarks somewhere else.
The only problem is that it doesn't work with firefox. I use Mozilla because of that. It also work with IE, and that lets me use the same bookmarks for both browsers.
It's not free, though, but well worth it IMHO.
The same thing happened to my A31p, except it was milk instead of water. Milk was running out the bottom edge of the laptop, so I immediately unplugged it and removed all the batteries. When I disassembled it, I discovered the same thing you did - the liquid couldn't reach the motherboard. It ran past the keys, down a channel to the bottom, and out the vent holes. I cleaned up the milk, and put it back together, with no problem.
Most automated meter reading through the powerlines is at a very low baud rate. The most popular meter reading system is the Turtle, which is in the millibits per second - they can only read a circuit's meters once a month, and it takes the entire month to do it.
The fastest power line system for control is probably TWACS, which is 60 bits per second in one direction, 30 in the other.
So, these are hardly Broadband over Power Line- there are virtually no RF emissions from these very low bandwidth (i.e. the opposite of broadband) systems. Because of that, though, they don't require repeaters, and they generally go through transformers, etc. (although TWACS is notorious for the periodic "tweaking" required).
Actually there are trading operations where you profit if the stock goes up OR down, and you loose money if it stays the same.

Good point, but I don't get too many chances to plug Metropolis, so I had to do it!
If you liked Dark City, you might like Metropolis, where many of those ideas came from. A review.

This is a fair amount of research going on for this; it's known as adiabatic logic.
Here's a short paper on how it's clocked:

Argh! I just lost my mod points yesterday. Someone mod parent up!
