    An employment contract is between two people, and can be terminated if either party decides to not continue.

    Wow. All I can say is I sure as hell hope it's a lot different in Australia to America. I'd hate to work in a situation where such a thing is possible. It'd be a big incentive to find a method of being able to survive under self-employment.

    Let's say you do belong to an "eeevil" corporation (or heck, even a two-man "company"). Your an upstanding individual. You're easy to get along with, you do your work on time and your boss has never had a reason to yell at you. Let's say it's 10:00 at night, well after work, your boss is driving down a street on his way to his home, he happens to notice you. He goes to toot his horn when you turn into a strip-bar. The boss is outraged you would go to such an immoral place, and the next morning he fires you.

    Should that be allowed? I sure as hell hope not. But it's not different to your "child molestation" example.

    At this point, I've decided never to pay again for an Office suite as long as Openoffice.org is around.

    I hope you don't have to open up and work on any work documents at home that are then given to other work colleagues.

    Parent's point is that Microsoft's "Critical Windows Media Player Update" they provide via their website (the REAL Microsoft and the REAL website) don't have anything to do with windows media player. He's asking if that's spyware.

    Give computers to a group of school kids in Dallas, Tokyo, Africa or anywhere and one or two curious of them will understand the in and outs of them in notime.

    But give them a spell-checker and they'll still be wondering how to use it after 14 years.

    , these old textbooks aren't updatable, but they have lasted much longer than these handhelds will likely will.

    Isn't that the problem? They currently are stuck with really durable OUT OF DATE books. The textbooks are used well beyond when they should be thrown out.

    They do know that the "light" side of the moon spends 14 days out of 28 in darkness, right?

    Duh, they're going to build train-tracks around the moon and have the base on top of those. That way it always moves with the sunlight.

    Linux doesn't need non-saavy users. As long as it has enough saavy users it will never die. Surviving and reaching the masses are not the same thing. This article was talking about surviving. As long as saavy users use Linux, it will survive.

    And due to the Berne Convention, other countries that have signed the agreement (such as Australia) have to obey other country's copyright laws when it comes to products from that country.

    Have you got a cite for that? Because no mention is made here, and this page appears to say different to what you claim.

    Troll: Now here's my biased take on the previous conversation:Critic: I happen to be an expert in a rather arcane area of knowledge, and note that Wikipedia is wildly wrong where it covers the stuff I know. This leads me to conclude that they might also be wildly wrong about obscure topic which do not happen to fall into my area of expertise, and so I can not rely on it as a reference for such information.

    Fanboy: Duh! If you see something in Wiki that's wrong, it's your moral duty to the universe to correct it!!!!1!!!one!!! Then Wiki be the best encyclopedia 3var! Also, you need to STFU and stop saying bad things about this 00ber-kewl project, or we will mod you into oblivion.

    If the only source they use is Wikipedia, they're morons. I've found Wikipedia to be a good starting point. If it has incorrect information, I'll look for more of it, and in doing so find out that some people think it's incorrect, so I'll do some more looking. Never ever only use 1 source. If you do, you are a moron.
