Ehm, how many forks of Linux can you list? I know of none that have wide enough use to be confusing to anyone susceptible to confusion over the matter.
Would his/her friends be paying for receiving the SMSes? That sounds weird. You can't choose which SMSes to receive, so it's quite illogical that the receiver would pay anything. Nobody in their right mind would accept a deal like that.
Yes, the main problem is security, but not in the way you mean. Just have a look at how many remote exploits through javascript have been found this year. On one who's concerned about security (and doesn't trust every webserver he/she goes to 100%) has javascript turned on. It's not a big hassle to allow in in NoScript, but still.
Bad: The upgrade path (which forces you to burn a new CD-set for each new release), lacking multimedia support and confusing extra RPM-repos (these intertwine, since multimedia support can be added quite easily, IF you find the right repos, which doesn't cause version confilcts).
Good: Rather stable, bleeding edge, large community and company backing it up.
At The Royal institute of technology here in Sweden it's mostly Java, but also Mozart Oz in some courses. I quite like it. Some things we learned would be very hard to get a feel for with other languages. You can easily get under the hood of Mozart Oz, although it's a very high level language.
I put on a homemade cooling solution on my Asus GeForce DDR 32MB, becuase it ran like 75-80 and crashed with the stock cooling.
When I booted, the screen had visual tearing, so I turned the sucker off.
The entire card was burning hot, even the huge heatsink was to hot to touch! Just after running less than a few minutes.
Turns out the mounting holes weren't isolated and I had used metal screws which fitted very nicley.
Needless to say, The sucker worked perfectly after I did some isolation.
Truly Groovy.
...for those who settle for ordinary hardware. But for us with the crawing, there is only one place to go.
The dude with faster Processors than the processor makers themselves.
Mr. Michael!

Or (alternatively) using the official plug-in (which is supposedly better): http://www.eclipse.org/pdt/

They have issued their own info about the incident at: http://www.ucpd.ucla.edu/ucpd/zippdf/2006/Taser%20 11-15-06.pdf (Yes, it IS brilliant to have a whitespace in a filename on tha Internets)
So why do they release a new distro, instead of contribing to mWall?
That card is neither Gigabit (it 10Gbps) nor Copper (it's fiber). Hardly what he asked for. But true, the question wasn't very specific.
Since when is Slashdot American/British? All these years I've been a dirty foreigner who's just visiting.

Yupp, sure do. I kinda hoped he wouldn't have Internet access where he is, but it seems like hope is lost.
