  1. Re:Hungry consumers? on PSP, PS2 Sales Skyrocket · · Score: 1

    You are forgetting a few things: PS 2 and the Xbox 360 Core need a memory card for saved games. And there is the $499 PS 3. Better to compare to that if you are using 360 Core.

    (Prices from Amazon.com)
    $24.99 PS 2 Sony memory card (3rd party is cheaper)
    $31.99 Xbox 360 memory card
    =======
    $934.98 Total of three consoles with 6 games (7 including Wii Sports)

    $799 PS 3 + 5 games (-$100 for the cheaper model)

    However, don't try and tell me that the case colour and design have anything to do with "working better".

    Maybe not better but more enjoyable. A good looking desktop and a well-designed computer put me on a good mood which can mean the difference between getting irritated or not. Sure, I could do the work on a regular PC but I probably wouldn't enjoy it as much.

    The Soviet Union was an allied nation, right? According to my history book, the Soviet Union lost 13.6 million soldiers and 7 million civilians. That's a lot more than 464 000 American soldiers dead.

    Ah! I understand!

    Small parallel to something sufficiently geeky: Do you take steps to prevent viruses and spam on your computer with firewalls and anti-virus software...

    Prevention.

    do you not bother and re-install windows when it gets too tough...

    Abortion.

    or do you run Linux?

    Geeky lifestyle -> never getting laid -> no need for prevention.
