All of this would be a non-issue if Microsoft would stop renigging on it's promis of a database based files system. The said it would be in 2003, well no. It will be in yucon, well no. Heck with secondary indexers, it's just a waist of cpu cycles and disk space. Are file searches needed that often? I rarely remember the names of the files I need anyway, so what good would the search do? I more often am looking at content within the file to find what I am looking for.
It really doesn't matter. A CS degree by itself isn't going to be very useful. With there being so much competition in the world for programming jobs, you can't be competitive unless you work for free. Then how do you eat? It will be difficult to find a job with a large corporation, only small shops will hire you. Then you usually don't get as good of benefits. Backup your degree with a business, accounting or HR degree. This will bring much more to the table and more attractive to corporations. Outsourcing is huge in America, and getting larger. I work for an HR outsourcing firm and prefer candidates who have experience or education in HR or accounting. The more knowledge you can bring with you the better. To just know how to code isn't enough any more.
It's a natural progression that cars will chauffer us around. Humans are lazy; they would rather get in their car and tell it to take them home. One problem I do see is having this ability while other people are still operating their own vehicles. Your standard driver is way too unpredictable to keep them from ramming into these drone vehicles.
Consider this, if all vehicles where centrally controlled, we would get to destinations sooner and safer. Rush hours will be much easier to deal with. Plus you won't be swearing at the car driving down the shoulder of the road, because it won't happen. Well at least until someone hacks the National Navigation system to get them ahead of everyone else.
As we write our applications, we always say, "I fix that next time around." Or "That can be restructured in version 2, it's working now." As we all know, we never get back to 'fixing' it. Microsoft is giving us another reason to go back and clean up our code.
They are so late, and racing against the open source crowed. I hear the first alert now, "Tab vunerabiliy in IE7. An new vunerability was found..."

Don't forget that if there are bluetooth devices operating in the area, they act as 802.11 jammers and will make your wireless life hell.

No, no, that would be the daleks vs. the Hobbits. And they thought they had trouble in Mordor.
