  1. Why make everyone change thier service for you? on Citifi.com Denies Alternate Browser Access · · Score: 1

I think people who decide to switch to linux should just take what they get and not complain. They Chose to change OS's and if someone has a service for windows, then too bad. Don't complain! Accept it. Don't make everyone cater to your needs. babies.

When I used the install it was pretty wasy and it had a nice gui type sysinstall type setup.

    >BSD is harder to obtain

Huh? Give me an internet connection and a floppy disk and you shall have BSD.

    >Linux has =LOTS= of distributions, which means there's =LOTS= of choice and LOTS of growth

I see this as bad! I like to know all the work is in one place. I don't want to buy 10 different version of the same OS to find what i need. (speaking of buying...forget that..ftp install!)

    >The volume of supplied software

Your gain is our gain, It's called linux_compat! BSD can run linux binaries (among other os's) sometimes better then linux can run them! So if you complain about BSD's software base...then really linux has the problem too!

Windows has many problems but with litte work, a lot can be patched up. This goes with most operating systems. I think the general public doens't have that many problems with windows being "unsafe". People do stupid things then blame the software. I think the software is very safe and over many many years of using each version, I, and many people I know, have not had a single problem with unsafe software. Is this all MS's doing? No, i think it's being half intelligent and using the software the way it should be. I know for a fact I'm not a exception. There are many examples of people not making a safe product, I think people like to go on witch hunts, and MS has recieved the brunt of this.

The Zap stuff is where the robot gets fun. It has sleep and if statments so he can do a lot more then vacuum.

I do want to be able to move an Image from my File Manager to my Word Processor and Move a chart from Excel. Everyone does. Linux can do this, but it takes days of downloading and compiling and tweaking. It's fun to geeks, but who wants that besides them? People want a product that's easy. Buy it, pop in the CD, install, and go. Not downloading 20 tgz's and compiling all day to get buggy Gnome running which uses so much cpu I might as well be using Windows. I like the challange unix brings. That's why I use FreeBSD. It's fun. Linux is not a solution for the desktop. I find that funny. It's going to take a lot more then Gnome and KDE to make Linux even clode to a desktop viable solution. Linux has no direction really as I see it. It's just a unix os that was in the right place at the right time. I hope I get lots of flames from all you Linux Kiddies.

"Users of FreeBSD sit back in the shadows, know they have an OS that actually WORKS.
