  2. Sony? WTF? Why? Trinitron tubes are long long gone, Sony now uses Samsung panels in the TVs, if you're lucky.

If you're buying a video camera, maybe Sony. For any other hardware, just no. They still haven't gone to jail for shipping millions of virus infected CDs/DVDs!

How many expansion slots does your newer PC have? 15% of the number available in 486 days? Modern expansion ports are great for many things you used to need a bus for.

Javascript is a shitty language that only exists because it is (was anyhow) the only somewhat safe game in the browser.

The only parts of your list not needed by Javascript purist is the business logic code. Using Javascript to access data still requires SQL (for reasonable efficiency) and the DOM is still a reflection of HTML.

Languages are easy, libraries are hard.

She's not going to impress anybody with a Stockton home anyway.

It's not quite that simple. At this point, most 'robots' are things like CNC milling machines/Lathes/EDMs/surface grinders/laser cutters/part placers etc.

In most cases you still have to locate a good manual machine for each worker to use vs. one CNC that runs almost 24x7 and doesn't fuck up nearly as much. Of course when they do fuckup, they wreck parts until they trip a failsafe or somebody notices.
