    You accidently hit on the key point.

    US bonds have historically been good investments, because we _didn't_ 'default' by printing money.

    That is going to change in the next 20 years, unless another currency goes 'pop' first and we are saved by capital flight. My money is on the Euro crashing and saving our ass.

    SS trust fund has bonds as an asset.

    The treasury has those very same bonds as a liability. 16% is the single largest number. You undermine your own position.

    That is what's known as an 'accounting trick'. It's bullshit and you know it. It's bullshit when the English take their pension obligations 'off book' and it's bullshit when the Americans take the SS debt 'off book'.

    The bonds in the SS trust fund are certainly part of the national debt.

    His quotes about 'supporting Castro' will cost the Democrats any chance there.

    Hillary in fact HAS to run away from the commie. He has too long a history. The republicans let him get away with claiming 'democratic socialist' during the primaries. Same as the Ds would have let David Duke get away with calling himself a 'Mainstream conservative'. That will all change in the general.

    He went to the USSR for his honeymoon for fucks sake.

    Colorado fucked up legalisation badly. Overregulated, every plant tracked from seed to bud etc etc.

    California has it right. Wild west, rules set by county. Many of which have pot as their number 1 cash crop and the core of their economies. Not just Humboldt and Trinity either.

    Flint took 100 years to fuck up their whole town. Primarily by taxing business out.

    The Flint city manager appointed is a Democrat. The governor's only responsibility is for not appointing a Republican city manager (as he should have). But that would have been called 'racist'. Also note that Flint was building a new supply pipe, Detroit got wind of it and demanded a 50 year contract before the pipe was complete, Flint had to find a new temporary supply or get fucked by Detroit. There were no Republicans involved in any of that.

    Peru's privately funded new water system is saving thousands of lives per year. Of course leftist complain, but that is what they do. In the meantime people have clean water for the first time.

    Government isn't terrible at running things in the short term, in the long term you always get 'British Rail'. Where a cash cow got turned into a money sink that couldn't accomplish it's original purpose.

    Jesus, play a little KSP before you start lecturing on orbits.

    It takes one half orbit to do a minimum energy transfer. That's half an eccentric orbit, so longer than half an earth year. 9 months.

    Donalds plan to print money is _EVERYBODIES_ only plan. Nobody is even thinking of balancing the budget without accounting tricks. The question is do we print money when out of options, or do we print money at the strategically best time, like right after the euro craters...

    No the tax raisers aren't thinking of balancing the budget. They just want to spend. We're still owed the tax cut part of Grahm-Rudman, no new spending until it's done.

    How? Paper trail.

    Once in any traded currency it's relatively easy to convert to another. But even there, paper trails are everywhere.

    British pounds are certainly a better long term investment than euro.
