    I will grant that Fascist nations are hard to tell apart from Corporatist nations, but that doesn't change that they got there from opposite sides.

    Our schools do a good job with the top 75% of students. Right through high school.

    It's our morons that bring down the average. European and Asian schools are apparently better at forcing the slow ones to learn something.

    He would have better odds putting the dollar on the roulette table and just letting it ride to riches.

    It's not that gambling has poor returns, it's that there are much MUCH better bets to be made. Including entertainment value of gambling in the picture makes the lottery an even worse bet. No free drinks, no scantily clad waitresses etc

    By my read you never got the most educational language, C.

    IMHO the first language doesn't really matter, but the second and third have to be C and assembler, or the student will never be comfortable 'down and dirty' with the silicon.

    C should always come before C++. Learning pointers and OO in one bite is too much for most.

    Just don't get caught. It's all any of us have.

    At least I usually know when I'm breaking the law and keep my head on a swivel. Most law abiders break the law by accident and will be blindsided.

    Midlands kids also speak a dialect, fire plug is a common synonym. They also speak 'standard English', as should everybody. The kid should have lost points for vocabulary.
