  1. Re:This seems justified in a way... on Vonage Files Regulatory Complaint Over QoS Premium · · Score: 0

Are you fregging kidding me? I pay Comcast 62 bucks a month to provide me IP service to my home. I pay them to get my packets from point A to B. Nothing more, nothing less.

"Packets don't magically wing their way across the globe, you know." No they sure don't, but i bet that ~$50/month people pay for broadband sure does help. So you're saying that because someone designed something that costs less (VOIP vs. pots) and company ABC is losing money because they can't compete so they're going to charge MORE for the services that they just so happen to have a complete monopoly on. Hrm. Sounds like a tough one to me.

Here's a solution. Don't charge me $46/month for a BASIC pots line with caller-id. If it was $25 i most likely never would have switched to Vonage. I have NO sorrow for Verizon/etc for their price gouging on everything under the sun.

Please! Get off your high horse. I'm 28 years old. I play and have played every GTA game since GTA2 way back when. I have no desire to go shoot some people and carjack and rob and rape etc etc etc. How is RockStar operating immorally? By producing a game that is labeled for adults only and parents rush out and buy it for their kids? That's rockstar's fault? You need to come to grips with reality my friend.

Ahh but herein lies the problem. As a previous employee of an ISP we'd be willing to bend over backwards to make a customer happy. This means NOT turning off their access when we detected a worm/trojan etc. Sure, we would null route their IP's if they were partaking in a DDOS or something, but a simple virus we'd *help* them by informing them. You don't make money in this world by shutting people off. I for one say null route them, but you have to think of it from a reality standpoint (Regardless of how askew that standpoint may be).
