"A radio executive told a major conference that radio audiences are slipping away into TV. Soap operas and recent news footage are taking the traditional radio audience and radio is struggling to fight back."
I second this. For safety, all control source code inside a car should be able to be studied, tested and analyzed by the market, academia, competitors, and even worried customers.
Twenty years ago I was 12. By then I was writing basic and assembly code for my TRS80 Model I. Apart from that your comment is exactly what I would say.
I can't think of myself developing software and making good money here in Brazil if I was not able to build things over the free software base.
I'd like to reconsider what I said because you are probably right in a certain point of view: Open source depends more on contract than copyright if 'Open source' that you are taking about is 'Open Source Movement'.
I'd say that you don't have a clue about what you're talking about. For example, the GPL contract is only needed to the people that wants to redistribute the software, for any kind of regular 'use' the copyright is enough, i.e. you would not need to abide by the GPL.
Use the SMTP to send only a URL for the e-mail. This way you maintain the compatibility to the legacy e-mail reader and allow accontability throught the DNS system.
After the system gets some acceptance, you can activate a automatic reduction of the importance of the e-mails not using the URL method.
This way you can install the accontability and can avoid download of e-mails from known spamers. You can even use the https protocol to avoid using PGP!

In the case of patents there is a benefit if allowing patents has a result of inventions being available to society faster and more ubiquitously than they would otherwise be. That's a good idea for things that take a long time to develop and are unlikely to be independently developed by many different inventors.
I am not so shure that this could be a benefit for the society. Everything to be developed needs a certain investment, and the amount of investment is a scarce resource. If you give a premium for a kind of investment (monopoly) you will probably reduce the interest in other investments that can help more the society as a whole (water treatment, sanitation, etc).
I am a VI guy. I have been working with it (vim and elvis nowadays) for more than 10 years and never complained one bit. People here at work usually get really impressed with thing I can do with it.:-) BUT... today I have made an "apt-get install anjunta" and got really impressed. Take a look... And, please, don't get me wrong: I was half joking in my last post...:-)
Sorry folks, but at the speed that kdevelop and anjuta are going I would say that this holly war is probably going to an unexpected end... Thank god!:-)
This kind of technology would be amasing!
So, using your equipment I could save more than 10 times the space available in my winchester? Very good!
Are you planning a IPO?:-)
IP and Property are really very different concepts that have very different laws defining how they work.
The formal communism doesn't address the IP concept.
Yes, Sao Paulo is becoming a very dangerous place. The population there is very high and the majority of it is poor people. Sao Paulo is the richest place in Brazil too, and that contradiction is amazing! We people here in Brazil should stop trying to copy the American capitalism and develop better social protections like some countries in Europe. That's probably the only way to solve the "civil war" you can find in Sao Paulo. PS: Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro are places with a lot of social problems because of their sizes. Please don't try to generalize it to Brazil like you did.
Of course you has been living in Brazil and seeing all of that in the streets everyday, right?
Give me a break. I live in Brazil and I can assure you that where I'm living is a lovely place.
I went a few times to the USA, and I was really afrait of all the violence I could see on the streets.
The americans are very funny, they are quick to complain about other countries and can't accept they have they own problems!
If they at least allowed us to sell some of our best industrial goods to them to allow us get some dollars to pay our debts with IMF... It's hard to get enough dollars selling only commodities, and that way we can't give better conditions to our people.
Microsoft Word is a kind of robot that takes the jobs of the secretaries.
We have to have the secretaries back!
Nobody sits like that and the video is too long.
The chair takes forever to be destroyed, my suggestion is to use C-4.
Brasilian cars can easilly handle this mixture:

What comes with Ubuntu by default is good enough for me.
Easy:
Make a law prohibiting advertisement about any kind of music or movie.
> Open - let lots of folk see what could be wrong

No, actually the owners of the IP are deprived of a possible sell, depriving the owners of possible cash.

PS: Please, I need the source code too, my hardware has some home made stuff.
Thanks.

No, it's not.
Piracy makes the producer be reasonable when defining prices. Without this constrain, probably the price would go up.

> I mean aren't you the ones doing those military experiments on people and stuff? Sheesh!
Where did you get this???
Oh, and are you able to point me where Brazil is in the World Map? I'm just curious...

The point here is: if there is anyone wanting to do something, why should we disallow him to do it?
If he can't hurt you, why should you refuse his work?
