    Why was this rated Flamebait?

So it appears that a /. poster might have different beliefs, calling
something they believe in flamebait, only makes /. a less desirable
    and less diverse community.

I personally think that gorillas that are showing signs of tools
is only a sign of intelligence nothing more.

Actually George Mason University is one of the few that have Ph.D programs in Information Technology, but it goes further such as they have "Information Technology with Concentration in Information Security."

Kind of ironic that they would have a graduate program there for information security and they just got hacked.

I think it might be an inside job though.

For those who keep saying that they don't understand why some people vote for who they vote, it comes from many different ways. Such as and believe it or not but people mostly vote from what they see in television ads on TV, They watch that and determine how their gonna vote weather it makes Kerry or Bush look bad or good. The second most common reason why people vote the way they do has sometimes to do with their religion or a part of a union their with, voters could have churches who tell them how they should vote and why, and the same goes for unions, so basically people just vote by what they see on TV or what their organization tells them to.

The Sad truth is, that most americans are ignorant in elections.

Apple isn't like most companies out there, they aren't ones to jump into a brand new idea and try to make money off of it, they wait for the market to mature, and apparently this market is brand new. The reason which I believe Apple is successful on some of their products is how they will read what customers want on these new devices and such, and make their own unique version of it. Apple didn't jump into the mp3 scene right away, they waited for the market to mature before introducing the iPod. So therefore you really can't say this is a bad idea, because there are some people out there willing to purchase something like this.

I personally believe what Real Networks is doing is great, as it's just capitalism taking it's natural course. Any company that bars their technology just so they can make the profit is understandable but it's not exactly helping the suffering music industry, what Real Networks is doing is letting consumers to be able to use other services to get their music needs, thus farther increasing the money the music industry is after.

Meanwhile, I don't believe what Real Networks is doing wrong by having their own software that will work with another company's hardware, I believe all interoperability is a healthy thing for the economy.

This is rather a stupid thing to study if you ask me, any password can be cracked, and the ironic thing is what if companies started doing this to their employees and when they leave they ask the employees what their password is? well they arent gonna know it and then the company will have to find another way to get the password.

Many APs by default have broadcasting the SSID turned on. Sniffers typically will find the SSID in the broadcast beacon packets. Turning off the broadcast of SSID in the beacon message (a common practice) does not prevent getting the SSID; since the SSID is sent in the clear in the probe message when a client associates to an AP, a sniffer just has to wait for a valid user to associate to the network to see the SSID.
