  1. All Hail Sosai X! on Millions of Jellyfish Invade Nuclear Reactors · · Score: 1

This reminds me of that episode of Gatchaman with the giant jellyfish lens monster that was created using polluted sea water.

  2. Space Smells Like Burnt Cookies on Anousheh Ansari Blogs From Space · · Score: 1

One thing I found amusing about her blog. She describes space as smelling sorta like a "burnt almond cookie" or "cooking" after they docked with the ISS. I never knew that space "smelled" like anything. I wonder if there is a silly technobable answer as to why this is. Maybe this is just the little kid in me but that is so cool.

  3. Tales from the Call Center on Your Favorite Support Anecdote · · Score: 2, Funny

The funniest thing that ever happened to me in call center support was when I was working at Onstar. I got a call from a Escalade full of high school boys who thought it would be fun to play with dad's Onstar. Of course, I got the typical comments like "I bet you're hot!" or "You sound cute, do you have a boyfriend?" And then, when they realized I was unflappable, they asked if I could see them. I replied kindly "no" but one of the young gentlemen announced he was mooning me and if I could see his ass.

  4. 10 Year of Trying to Get It (or Not) on 10 Years of Neon Genesis Evangelion · · Score: 1

Evangelion is actually what got me back into anime. I grew up on Battle of the Planets and Robotech and I was glad to actually have some anime that messed with my mind more and actually had a descent dubbing/subtitling going for it. I like Akira too but that never made much sense until they got around to dubbing/subbing the full version of the movie.

I just picked up the platinum thinpak at Christmas time (for only $40 and its the US release) and I throughly enjoyed watching it all the way through again. Its one of those things you have to experience, not sit around pontificating about some hidden meaning that isn't there. Now, I just need to pickup those movies; its been quite a while since I saw them because I saw them when the fansubs first hit over here.
