DST should be eliminated. We're in a global economy and out of sync 1/2 the year with most of the planet. DST does not "Save" a single minute nor does it add a single minute to the amount of daylight on any day of the year.
For those worried about outside activities during the dark hours, they should adjust their own schedules. Kids should not walk to school in the dark. There are carpools and buses for many. while schools could easily adjust their starting hours.
There is nothing more Socialist than forcing the entire American society to conform to the fears of some parents and the inflexibility of many school administrators.
Little known fact: Most of America's large banks, including the Bank of New York, the Federal Reserves Main bank, are owned by "Holding Companies" in Luxembourg. Look it up!

Currently, 1929 holding companies are exempt from all Luxembourg taxes.

Co-incidentally, Abu-Dubai has been enjoying a great resort and housing building boom. They are building several huge sand islands in the sea, one in the shape of a palm tree, the other is the world completes with man made islands in the shapes of all the countries in the world. While in China April, 2006, I bought Windows XP, (Chinese) version for 25 Yuan, thats about $3.50 USD. The product came with a printed manual and it is boxed! Location; Downtown GuangZhou in the "Computer City" district. I never actually installed it, that wouldn't be legal.
There is still a great difference between $65 and $3.50 USD. Microsoft continues to demand prices for it's products that generate obscene profits for it's blunderbuss products. Go Linux & Open Source software!
