Reconsider YOUR math. (It all depends on the sample size they used for the test.)
"Assume say 2,020 people. 20 are terrorists. The machine will identify.08 * 2000 plus 20*.85 = 177 people called terrorist by the machine Of those only 17 are really terrorists (less than 10%), the rest are innocent. 90% wrong decisions"
Try this: Assume say 40 people. 20 are terrorists. The machine will identify.08 * 20 plus 20*.85 = 19 people called terrorist by the machine Of those only 17 are really terrorists (less than 89.5%), the rest are innocent. 11.5% wrong decisions!
You misunderstood the implications of what they are saying. A person with a larger cranium is more likely to be "smarter" than those with smaller sizes. What it does not say is that you MUST have a large cranium to be intelligent.
You're making the assumption they are talking about desktops only. IMHO, Apple has more riding on their laptops than desktops. Intel commands the notebook market with the Pentium M chips... AMD is a distant second in that segment. So in that regard it makes sense to with Intel.
The $3 million is a pledge, so it will not be given until something "positive" happens. As for the rest of the contributions, they were done through Paypal and will be refunded to the donors if the effort does not succeed.
Usable, anonymous P2P is what everyone is waiting for. The catch is that none of the clients are fast enough, nor do they have a large enough user base. Instead of this scheme, downhillbattle.org should have written an article comparing these developing stars.
The real question is how many industrialized countries it would take to stalemate the US in a non-nuclear war. IMHO, even a coalition of China, Russia, EU, and UK would be questionable in the present day. (Still would have air and naval superiority) Give the US another decade and the gap will be substantially greater.
