Back in 1992, we were forced to use VAX-Document. It was declared, by a boorish, narrow-minded Veep of Engineering that PC's would never catch on - mere toys. DEC-VAX and VMS would live forever. OMG - how much paper and toner we went through back then! You would think the Sierra Club would/should have killed off DEC.
I've used personally, and several professional installations of a product by Magenta Research. They're at www.magenta-research.com. Some measure of programmability on features/options, and built tough. I personally never had a problem with them, but I don't have enough machines at home to justify one.

Yes, the Wang 700B (and 702 "plotter" aka daisy-wheel printer).
I acquired one of these back in '84. Amazingly, it worked! Love those nixie-tube displays!
