Why would you say it is a mistake? The company makes scales that measure in grams (a convention although strictly inaccurate). They showed an object of the same mass measures differently. The only variable that changed when measuring force is gravity, therefore they proved what they set out to prove. There is no mistake there at all.
The grams is a unit of mass, which is invariant depending on gravity. The metric unit of weight is the kilopond [wikipedia.org].
Sort of. The metric system is no longer used and has been replaced with SI. The kilopond or kgf is not part of the recognized SI system, and instead it used the Newton (N). When people now mention metric they actually are saying SI, but regardless, kilopond is not in that system of measures.
God is three-in-one: the father, the son, and the holy ghost.
Catholics (about half of Christians) believe that and generally the others do not hold that distinction. Regardless they are just three aspects of the same thing. Kind of like a 'day' is actually a day and a night. All one and the same. Asking what the difference is between the three is then like asking if a day is 24 hours then how long is a night? It's a nonsensical concept.
No sorry you are completely wrong in your reasoning. If relativity was not taken into account on the onboard atomic clocks on the GPS satellites, then errors from calculated positions from GPS satellites would accumulate on the order of kilometers per day. Your explanation seems to show you dont really understand how GPS systems work
Every friend / coworker I have regrets their VW purchase. Everything fails on that thing, from power windows to ABS to water pumps. Rust is not an issue with a VW they just fall apart on their own.
Yes he did because Reagan GAVE them to him!!! You really think that selling arms illegally to a country (then selling arms to the opposite side) to raise money for another illegal under the books CIA war in central america has any comparison to an economic statement whether its true or false??? Geez get your head out of your ass and look at what is really going on the world would you?
Why do you think Obama is dishonest? I don't get where that comes from.
No one can be more dishonest that Reagan and the Bushs. Pretty much everything they said was a blatant lie (ie, 'I have no idea where those weapons came from', 'the contras are freedom fighters', 'read my lips no new taxes' and the favorite 'they've got wmds!'
it was an extremely odd audience reaction: McIntyre received a standing ovation upon his introduction, thanks to his dogged research and unrelenting demand for information and accountability, but then his blase' attitude about scientists' behavior -- particularly Mann's -- left most of the audience cold and some even angry. The applause for McIntyre was tepid upon the conclusion of his remarks.
Clearly the supporters of the audit are not interested in the truth, they are only interested in seeing Mann fail, regardless of the evidence. Get off your high 'this is fraudulent use of tax dollars!' horse and actually look at the evidence and conclusions - not what the crackpot right wing tells you to think.
yea I've heard fox news and the political idiots say this. What the hell is wrong with you crackpots anyway? Yo want Obama to fail so badly that when the economy numbers look good you just throw up your hands and shout 'rigged! rigged!'. Get you head out of your ass will you?
I went to the local GM dealer, and while they had one, they said it wasn't for sale. And if I wanted to buy one I'd be put on almost a year long waiting list. He basically said they were near impossible to get so dont bother right now.
I get better mileage than that in my Ford Escape hybrid, mines bigger, carries more passengers and cargo, and its a hell of a lot more reliable than a shitty VW.
The Corporations can spend $$$ on research if they want.
No. The way the law was written, if a corporation decided to do embryonic stem cell research, they would then lose ALL federal support for the entire company> This effectively shut down the stem cell research because of the financial impact
There's a distinct difference between embryonic stem cell research and adult stem cell research. It's sad that you can't see that there are two different things here.
Yes the difference is adult stem cells are extremely difficult to harvest and not nearly as useful.
The problems with obtaining adult stem cells and even their limitation means an effective halt to most forms of stem cell research. Using embryonic stem cells especially when they would otherwise just be destroyed shouldn't be an issue and I'm glad that asinine presidential order got overturned.

Look -- they are pieces of equipment they are not people or even animals for that matter. This is taking anthropomorphism way too far.
Yes, the shuttles hate that.
Nah - that would be assault and would probably get you arrested and fired.
No. He assaulted me first with stupidity. I simply defended myself and gave him back what he assaulted me with.
then he's perfectly allowed to hand a guy a DVD in the elevator or talk about the eternal condition of the soul over coffee or lunch.
And if I was the receiving guy I'd be perfectly allowed to jam that DVD up his stupid ass.

GPS satellites already have to take into account the relativistic effects of their motion. This is not new.
Well, I'm interested in hooking up with someone who regrets buying a German-made (not Mexican-made) TDI Golf.
Ummm this is a tech site, not a gay hookup site.

Hussein had chemical weapons

Oh give it up. Even McIntyre says it wasn't fraud.
You mean this one? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/earthnews/8282028/Michael-Mann-vows-to-keep-up-the-street-fight-against-climate-change-deniers.html
No sorry, this is clearly a witch hunt.

Really? My $50k SUV used to have a $100k subsidy??
While Volts sit in dealer's lots gathering dust,

No sorry. This conservative witch hunt against this work has been clearly shown to be politically biased and non factual. Stop perpetrating the myth.

But hey don't let facts get in the way of your religious beliefs and prejudice.
On March 9, 2009, President Barack Obama lifted, by Executive Order, the Bush administration's eight-year ban on federal funding of embryonic stem research. http://usliberals.about.com/od/stemcellresearch/a/ObamaEmbyBan.htm
Maybe you should look at your own prejudiced religious beliefs before you accuse others.
