    I thought we were talking about transport, not just land transport. I ride a bicycle to and from work (20 km per day). It uses the energy I would have consumed anyway and mostly wasted.

    MY workplace will take care of itself. I don't have a stake in it. I am talking about the ISP I use at home. I have a static IP address with sites hosted on it. The ISP I use appears to not have a roadmap to go to v6.

    Computers aren't all that important. The apollo 15 lunar module landed at Hadley Rille by using a five vector terrain model of the surrounding mountains. That was good enough on the day. Computers don't give you free momentum.

    Yeah my eeepc 701 drops sideways into a small laptop bag. It would go into the outside pocket of a large laptop bag. I would love to see a version without the screen a keyboard. Just external ports. That would be great for using at work and it would only be the size of a four port switch.

    I am still using my 701. The display flickers some times but thats not a huge problem. I have ubuntu installed on it and I am careful about the space I use.

    Correct me if I am wrong but aren't those closed systems? I am talking about my ISP giving me ipv6 from my home to any other point in the world.

    Horrible film. I have to pretend to like it because my family gave me the DVD for my birthday. Now I know it was full of holes but that russian guy paid three billion bucks for three seats on a ship he could have built a smaller version of for fifty million. It just had to be at the top of a mountain and able to cope with rough water.

    And all those Indian people fleeing from the water. They could have walked to high ground and had a chance...

    Nobody is working on migration, at least where I am. My ISP doesn't publish a migration plan. Any migration to IPv6 is years away for me.

    When it comes to downloading its only CP which seems to be illegal here.

    For extremely loose definitions of "CP" which include things such as "fictional cartoon characters" and "adult women with small breasts".

    Accused people seem to plead guilty in shame. It would be interesting to see somebody take these laws on in court.

    A transistor might be easier, given the power supply constraints. Use your smelter to make pure silicon. You would have to know how to dope it though. Hmmm doesn't Arsenic come from wallnuts?

    Yeah thats it. A sextant can be made out of timber. Should be good enough for one agree accuracy.

    Yes though range isn't good. I did it with my electronics kit, receiving with an AM radio. An oscillating relay gave me the spark. A 30 metre vertical antenna gave me 30 metres of horizontal range.

    You only need eyes for that, assuming that you understand the shape of the earth and the position of the stars.
