You are confusing DESIGNER with BUILDER.. The designer of the suit was probably one or more concept artists with input from an art director.

For example, Iain Mccaig designed all the cool episode 1 costumes, but Trisha Biggar picked out the materials and stitched them together so she won the oscar for best costume. Not fair but thats how the system works,
