The point is that you have choice when the client is in control of finding a server where theres no dns entry for. When the server has it, there no competition, when you enter something into you firefox toolbar like lets say google (without the.com or.org). Without the wildcard dns, it will bring you to the google site. With it, you don't goto google at all and instead goto the isp's search page. This stuff should be on the client, so theres competition and the way things find domains that don't exist is better..
I don't know if your wondering, but opendns (http://opendns.com/) does this as well. Its another way on income. This is one of their explanations: http://www.opendns.com/faq/#is_it_like_site_finder . Its not as bad when an isp does this compared to the whole world, and on the root dns servers like verisign did, which could of slowed down the entire.com/.net space. If users of earthlink have a problem with that, they can simply switch dns servers or start there own dns server easilly.
Limewire is allready open source, you can download it right here: http://www.limewire.org/limewire.zip . The community site for it is http://limewire.org/ . So therefor, if limewire gets sued, there is still frostwire http://frostwire.org/ which is a fork of limewire, and provides same functionality. Frostwire isn't run by an organization so it would be pretty hard to sue.

A great alternite to this extension is the openwengo firefox extension. Its a little buggy, but gets its job done and looks very nice. Its called openwengo, and you can get it from http://www.openwengo.org/ . Its open source, lightweight and also allows free phone line calls, which Abbeynet doesn't do.
Also, take a look at this, completely diferent DNS entries:
dmb@downpenguin:~$ host openlinux.org
openlinux.org has address 131.188.40.90
openlinux.org mail is handled by 10 openlinux.informatik.uni-erlangen.de.
openlinux.org mail is handled by 50 fauern.informatik.uni-erlangen.de.
openlinux.org mail is handled by 100 mailhub.rrze.uni-erlangen.de.
dmb@downpenguin:~$ host sco.com
sco.com has address 216.250.128.12
sco.com mail is handled by 10 mail.ut.sco.com.
Sco is not based in germany. I hope that is enough proof.
More evidence it could be fake. Notice the press release url is http://openlinux.org/releasedetail.cfm?id=21370 . Try changing that id to something else like http://openlinux.org/releasedetail.cfm?id=69 . It still goes to the same press release. Also, wouldn't they announce that on the real openlinux website? Also, 2.5? Its gotta be some kind of joke. Err 404 is diferent as mentioned before also. It *is* a hoax, so nothing to see, move on to the next sorry.
I have a question. I currently registered and recieved an ipv6 subnet from sixxs.net. Are these ipv6 addrs mine, like do i own them? Will they be available forever? Also, when ipv6 becomes main stream if it ever does, will it cost money to get a ipv6 address or subnet? Will everyone be guarenteed a subnet?
That april fools page was made a long time ago, must be in 2004 or 2004. It still uses terms such as lindows. Also, that was a lot of effort, pictures and text for one april fools jokes. Usually there just short and to the point.
My experience with centos has been pretty good. Anytime someone asks for a 'warez' or simular request, just refer them to centos, as it is really the same thing (from the same sources) as Red hat enterprise linux.
The only problem with centos is its lack of a good package management system. This of course comes as a direct result of using RHEL sources. YUM and RPMs are just not easy enough for a general user to figure how to install third party programs. It would be nice if they got a decent version of APT working and used that as there default package managment system. Also, a new update system would be nice.
You MUST wait for an official announcment before announcing all over the media (/.) than an alpha has been released when it really hasn't. I really suggest you change that announcment editors and say something like update "Not really released". You can't just go reading a blog and think that is news. People, DO YOUR RESEARCH!!
Alpha 1 HAS NOT BEEN RELEASED!
It seems as if patents are bringing corruptness to society. It seems like patents are resulting in fear of innovation and fear of making new products. There needs to be reform in the patent system NOW. It is uterly rediculus that people can sue over such things. Ideas are not products and certainly do not deserver half a billion dollars.
Anyway, Conclusion, patens cause corruption, and there needs to be change.
Google is definitly a lot larger than sun, and also take a look at there stock and market value.
Google definitly has a chance to create an Operating System revolution, and of course they may intially lose some money, but it is all going to add up at the end. This may be the change the open source world needs!
WOW, the transgaming server is so conjested i can't even access the home page until i reload about 50 times, where then i get a apache bandwidth error.
JIRA, plus great integration into 'fr agile' methodology.

Use http://shipit.ubuntu.com/ , theyll send you absolutely *FREE* cds in the mail. It takes a while, but it is free, and good for people with dialup.
