Seriously, I though all electronics were tested for interference in important bands. There is a little FCC logo on my VCR. Isn't what that means?
No, it isn't banned. It gets rated R so kids under 17 "can't" see it. This looks essentially the same. Frankly, I think that if videogames adopted the movie rating scale things would get a lot less ambiguous... not to mention, the accursed M (for blood--shudder) would look more like PG-13 than NC-17.
I agree with the people who say that kids should be allowed to play violent videogames. That is why I think this ruling was a BAD thing. This will incite a backlash with better-worded legislation. When the minority (geeks in this case) win some of the middle-ground, the counter-offensive can be devastating.
I'm just sick of the hipocracy in this country that hold the left to a *much much* higher standard then the right.
I am convinced that this is what is holding the left back. What else can you call it besides zealotry and stupidity when Michael Savage talks the way he does and people listen and nod in agreement? I used to think that the left lacked zealots. It seems instead that we are simply too smart to listen to them.
If IM is indeed the next big thing, then there is eventually going to be a RFC and standardization. Then Yahoo will conform or it will lose users because at that point users will expect cross-compatibility.
