I hope you didnt miss the real issue here. 1. One beer is good. 2. Three beers is really bad. What the heck can I do with one beer?????? ;-)

Having a high share price has it's merits.

If you have a large number of individual subscribers, you have to stay in contact with all of them, and send lots of expensive propaganda such as the offering material/reports. This can add up to be quite an unnecessary expense...

It also raises the profile of the shares held - less families, more investors/investment firms.

Although theory dictates that price shouldn't affect the types of investors, it does have a known psychological influence.

I also have a Thinkpad.. its a 340... the same thing happened, HDD died. Now it's sitting there (its a good lappy for browsing the net etc), and since I can't find any HDD setup params in the BIOS and am wondering if the HDD params are factory set or auto (ie you can never put a bigger drive in there??), I'm reluctant to spend the $$$ on a new or old drive to test if its possible to fit a big 20GB on it....

This may be a similar reason why the Author doesn't want to spend the $$$ on an IBM spec replacement drive, or a bigger drive?? Anyone know the answer to this issue with the old thinkpads??

"Among your Web site pet peeves, you inveigh against pop-up ads, which you once compared to selling a vacuum cleaner by first dashing someone's ashtray on the floor. "

"That's completely what it is like, yes. My screen is really precious to me. It's mine; don't go and pollute it."

...and then I closed the window and I had a doubleclick popup ad come up from cioinsight!!! LOL!!
