  1. This is probably more about Thingiverse on MakerBot Merging With Stratasys · · Score: 2

more about the stores, brand and Thingiverse than anything else, thought it does give them a great platform to litigate like crazy, all they have to do is threaten.. no one in the RepRap community has the money to defend... now. Makerbot was the biggest player with the most money. Now nothing.

I'd be weary of the source as it is the Apple Daily. They are known for not being that reliable. I was on the cover a number of years ago, and they photoshopped my hair blond to make me look more white and miss quoted me. I was pissed but then everybody told me that everybody knows that's what they do. C'est la vie. I'll wait till I hear it from a different paper.

News Corp. has been buying up failing news outlets like candy. Now they are trying to cash in by using their influence to change the playing field and make them worth something again. This will reap them great profits and just cement their dominant market position.

  6. the less information collected the better on Data Theft and Corporate Irresponsibility? · · Score: 5, Interesting

For most things, organizations don't need much if any of your information. The want it to mine... there is no down side for them. For the companies that do need data, I believe that every field in a credit report should have a complete audit history and companies should have to pay up and fix their mistakes. If legislation also made them accountable for data theft then you would see a lot less information collected. That would be a good thing.

Thanks for noticing, for getting an on topic first post I was bitch slapped into karma oblivion. At least two people with mod points went back and knocked down all my previous posts to -1 with trolls, off topics and redundants. I was banned form posting for twenty-four hours and I'm not allowed to meta-moderate anymore:( There some mean people on /.

More FUD from MS Desperate times call for desperate measures. What to say, Microsoft is getting desperate. To be coming out making direct statements like this show's that Ballmer is worried about his future; he really screwed up with Vista.
Daniel Lyons has been suspected of being a SCOX puppet for Microsoft for quite some time now. And people have been suspecting that Microsoft has been funding this sort of talk in the SCOG - IBM case as well. Can't wait for the discussion on Groklaw

I think a lot of "designers" have there heads up their preverbal buts. There is a reason that Times Roman is used all the time... It's one of the easiest fonts to read. Sure you can use things that have more style but they won't be more readable. As a designer accessible and easy to read should be one of your main goals. Far too many people get caught up in making something look supper slick and forget that nobody wants spend the time to figure what your content is about. Use tables and use Times Roman if you care about your content being read.
