"The fact that a 10yr old child can obtain a Microsoft Certificate means that it's no indication of total worth as a software developer or employee."
Does anyone else think that this could be a huge backlash on Microsoft Corp. because it is possible for a 9-year old to pass? I would think that after this "incident" that they would have to seriously consider raising their testing standards. Don't get me wrong, I think that it is wonderful that a 9-year old girl was able to pass a test at such a young age (especially being from Pakistan)- but I would have to say that it highlights that just about anyone can pass these tests as long as you cram hard enough. It would be really interesting to see what she is able to do if asked to impromptu... if anything at all!

actually, people who attend catholic church sermons were told that if they voted Dem they would go to hell.

the Catholic church likes to scare their parish members, and some people are scared enough to take the bait.

Wow... divine right... doesn't that sound a bit tyrannical to you? The fact of the matter is that there is supposed to be a separation of Church and state. It is evident after this election that there is clearly no separation at all. The saddest part is what people were told in church- If you vote for Kerry, you will go to Hell. This would account for every bible belt state voting right wing, for they are gullible enough to think that they will go to hell if they didn't vote for Bush. Praying isn't going to save the United States during this "Legacy Term," especially since our civil rights are deteriorating at an exponential rate. This integration of Church and State will ultimately lead to the divide intervention of abortion and the overturning of Roe v. Wade when Dubya picks his new Supreme Court when the planned 4 retire. -sweeetnes

  5. A Similar Situation For Me on Whopping-Big Data Theft At U.C. Berkeley · · Score: 2, Interesting

I applied for San Diego State University way back in 1998 when I was initially trying to find a school to attend. About 4 months ago I got a notice in the mail saying that Hackers had gained access to the data base that held all of the applicant information (drivers license, SSN, financial awards, PARENTS SSN's, etc.) and that we should all obtain a copy of our credit reports and report any suspicious activity. This apparantly happened in February of this year and I received a message in June notifying me. To be honest, I think it's pretty stupid to keep names and SSN's in a database that is linked to a network. It doesn't seem right, and now I have to worry about Identity Theft because I applied to a University 6 years ago.

I was writing a gigantic research paper and on page 37, my laptop fell off of my bed. The back (where the power chord is) hit the floor, and the plastic snapped in half near the power outlet. Silly me, I tried to turn my laptop on again (yah, whoops) and I shorted out the entire motherboard. Hah... but the nice people at Dell repaired everything for me at no charge and despite the fact that I had to mail my laptop to Texas, I had it back in a 3 day turnaround.... the night before my paper was due. Nice!
