Here in the UK we have CCTV at almost every corner, ANPR cameras on all major roads and all entry and exit points of major towns. There are also speed, red light, and parking enforcement cameras. The argument used to be "If one has done nothing wrong rhwn one has nothing to fear". Whether this is valid or not it has still led to us being unable to leave our houses without being seen/tracked if they want but there has been no reduction in crime; seems the criminals are the only ones who manage to go unseen.
Unfortunately the safer the driver of a car FEELS the more danger the rest of the road using public are in. The best road safety innovation would be a large spike in the middle of the steering wheel which spears the driver on impact... then cars wouldn't crash!
That's the whole point, they're using GPS for the speed monitoring so it is independent of the car's workings... apart, presumably, for a need for electricity.
It isn't difficult for them to make it illegal to drive a vehicle with a defective one, after all, this has been the case for years with tachographs in commercial vehicles.
This was suggested in the UK a couple of years ago, but even to the extent of actively controlling the speed of vehicles. It's only a matter of time before it gets enforced upon us with severe penalties for interfering with it.
You've missed the point, if you re-read the article it says that the issue is where Greenland ends... thus delimiting the amount of sea that they can claim. So the IS land at stake, it is just under ice at the moment and will form the shore of the new arctic ocean when the ice retreats enough.
So, for it to be a trade mark, there has to be the possibility of confusion. If they this that their members, the leading chemists in America, are going to be confused by the similarlty between 'ACS' and 'Google' then perhaps they are saying that the rest of the world should be wary of the products of the American chemical industry?
Contactless is the same as cash for thieves.

How much good is it going to do to the hardware when the shopping trolley joins the rest of them upside down in the nearest duck pond?
