In my case I can't stand those, and find the settings in that screenshot to be quite agreeable.... that said one of the first things that would happen is my setting the fonts to the DejaVu fonts, instead of whatever they are using.
It's the same argument as "understand vs condone" - "yes, you can understand someone doing something without condoning it." They are not intrinsically linked.
