There's no question he raises a valid point. Several valid points. Ok, many valid points.
But this is not the way to communicate an issue of National Security.
Goodness, this is just as bad (hypothetically) as some yahoo stumbling on a gaping hole in Windows that no one has found yet and running to NBC to be the first one on the news as discovering it. A responsible person knows that some other bright yahoo will figure out what they figured out just because it was broadcast. But that fact that the majority of Internet-connected desktops can be compromised now doesn't really matter, because "I found it first, and I want the whole world to know!"
Maybe I missed it but I didn't hear him having called any Senators. They just love to have a flavor of the month to beat their chest about. Better yet, I didn't hear him calling any Senators who used to be in the Coast Guard.
I do see him, however, INTERNATIONALLY BROADCASTING that you can sneak up on a Coast Guard vessel. Great; now there's more exposure to our Boys and Girls in Orange and Blue while patrolling our southeastern waters.
Seems to me he's one of the dumbest smart people in the world.
Well DUH! of course it would launch a new space weapons race. To compound the problem, now there are more than two or three countries that can loft their stuff... making this the worst type of situation that could ever evolve.
"The EU Commission really has to be raked in before its too late. How about their power to propose directives is removed. That would be similar to a proper Parliamentary directive where the civil servants don't create the laws."
More to the point, how about they just stop awarding stupid Patents? Both the EUC and the USPTO are guilty of that one.... how about somebody patent something that is really earth-shattering for a change, and fight over THAT, like a water-powered vehicular engine? THAT would be worth it. Otherwise, all you see is a bunch of the smartest DUMB people trying to get rich like SCO tried to.
... Everyone MUST purchase hydrogen/electric cars. Kill the petroleum-based cars NOW, THIS YEAR. The make all the big burners of petroleum-based fuels find another source or be put out of business.
Simple, no? <snicker>
I wish it was that simple. AS SOON as somebody puts forth a simple, plausible answer, we'll have every politician and big business rep screaming that the economy will fail.
Yeah. I rather have a dollar worth squat than a planet my kids will have to flee before they grow old.
