The insurance is a point that a lot of people think will be a stumbling block. It is likely that you will still need individual insurance. The thing is, with the human equation out of it, the insurance on your car will be like the insurance you have for your tree dropping a limb on a guest in your home. The odds of it happening are so slim that it just gets rolled into your homeowners insurance and that is the end of it.
It is pretty clear that they don't have a problem with guns. They clearly seer guns add a legitimate way to project themselves. Their problem is with OTHER people having funds.
And if you know that your fiancee's ex is a raving lunatic because she was perfectly nice every date you went on with her while she was still married to the guy, just accept your fate.
Yes it is worth it. Your suggestion is what the old Windows phones used to do. It simply didn't work. Way too much stuff targeted only one processor, and it was often hard to tell if apps were even written for your device. The speed issue is a red herring. Current processors are plenty fast for running an emulation layer that creates platform independence. The vast majority of users would not notice the difference between an emulated environment vs. a native environment. Most phones are not running the absolute fastest processors out their. Thus is speed was their biggest problem, they can easily solve by getting a faster phone.
Beyond all of that, processor independence is future proofing of the OS. As we have seen with desktop Windows, most people choose their OS based on what has tons of software and wide support. Look at Windows Phone to see what happens when you have to dump your entire old library of software and start from scratch.
Your reasons are correct. #1 is the biggest problem though. It stems from the fact that most children in the US are never taught what the word "Free" (as in beer) actually means. The word "Free" gets thrown around for things that must be paid for non-stop in the US, and most of the population eats it up.
This summer at the California State Fair, my son got an itch to go and get all of the "Free" stuff that was being offered in the exhibit halls. Having had the "Free" conversation many times, we gave him a quick reminder, and let him have at it. There were a lot of venders that got real uncomfortable when an 8 year old asked them if the item they posted as "Free" was really free or if he would have to pay with personal information. Many were incapable of understanding the question. The one place that was giving away free promotional items with no strings attached was ecstatic with the question.
In the US most people think that they are getting a free phone. If you point out that they are paying for the phone, they will tell you that they understand, and then explain that it is OK because their phone was free.
Have a relay station tethered or trailing under it's own power that has no humans, and relays the optical communication from the ship to radio waves that travel to the final destination.
Because the "problems here on earth" that the space naysayers keep saying we should solve prevent it. If an organization started any real progress on terraforming the Sahara or Gobi deserts, there would be blood in the streets. Most likely literally.
Actually, what would be more similar would be if the US banned buying booze on Sundays or after 2am. While not universal, it is the law in many parts of the US.
You obviously were not around for the Atari 2600. The influence of the 2600 dwarfed the PS2. It defined a generation in a way that Sony could only dream their console could. For a time, the name Atari was literally synonymous with game console. Even the competitors like ColecoVision would frequently be referred to as a Coleco brand Atari.
Most USB devices work with linux drivers. Most smart TVs are running linux. My guess is that the TV manufacturers put extra effort into removeing a lot of the functionality so that they could skimp on hardware.
Multi-user certainly is a cool feature that is a big deal, but beyond that, Google Docs is closer to Wordpad than it is to Word. It could be argued that it is really a multi-user notepad.
I would say that multi-user is the only major feature added to word processing since ~1998.
I'm going to have to agree. Google docs is in the ~1993 stage of office suites. Windows Phone is in the ~2009 stage. The nice part for Google is that word processing is a largely solved problem. Google is chasing a largely static target. Unfortunately for MS, they are chasing two competitors that are anything but a static target.
I certainly hope that you are trolling. It would be truly sad if you were not smart enough to figure out how our population could be reduced without executions.
Nope. Most of the population, has been thoroughly convinced the mantra "Eat Less Exercise More". The believe that the number of calories put in your mouth minus the amount expended during exercise is the absolute determinant of your end weight.
True, many things in nature are double edged swords. We can keep our fingers crossed that we can gain luxury before the really bad ways of reducing population happen.
Unless forced to, most people deal with it by using a car.

It should be noted that their motto was "don't be evil" not "do no evil". They are two differen things. One is possible, the other is not.
It is pretty clear that they don't have a problem with guns. They clearly seer guns add a legitimate way to project themselves. Their problem is with OTHER people having funds.
The good is that it projects those of us without guns. The fact that I might be armed adds a good amount of protection.

You have to make sure it is usable on a portable device.

Lumber is a terrible example. Even in the US you will be confounded by the attempt to find a 2" x 4" piece of lumber because a 2x4 isn't 2x4.
That is the lie that helps keep corruption alive.

No offense taken. It's just sad that an awful lot of people are not joking when they say it.

And where are you going to get the fresh water for all of those people in Texas? There is more to carrying capacity than physical space.

It would be sad if that was really the only way you could think of to reduce the human population.
That is a point that many miss. What really is more important quantity of human life or quality?
