Worse than either of them would be Pence. Pence could rally the Republicans in Congress to do serious damage whereas el Presidente Tweetie is too busy inhaling nitrous oxide in the hopes of inflating his ego just a bit more. And the end of a Pence presidency, he'd lead a Republican congress in prayer sessions to take away the last shred of freedom in the U.S.

There is a push among conservatives and liberals at the local level to reduce prison sentences with the understanding they are defeating any attempts at correcting bad behavior. This effort has been going on for several years and states have started to respond. So Sessions decided it would be fun to attempt to through a monkey wrench into that effort. I doubt it will effect the states, only federal prosecutions.

Programming is male-centric. Most of math is as well. Those disciplines value individual effort and males gravitate towards them because their ego gets immediate feedback. Women, on the other hand, are very social. Solving a math problem simply isn't as interesting as being part of a team that solves it. They value the social process whereas males concentrate on the final result.

The consequence is that Silicon Value is Male-ville. Left to their own devices, males form a tribe and are quick to jump on anyone they see as threatening their culture. Women tend to rather like different cultural influences (not "cultural" in the crass sense of shared nationality but rather shared behavior).

To some extent, what you say might be true. But I am not convinced that it is theoretically impossible to have a decent graphical language that does have higher order logical concepts. I don't believe functional programmers care or have the necessary subtlety in their thinking to accept diagrams for their stuff. That also one of the hurdles they have in pushing their religion. In a somewhat heretical book, Graham Hutton's Programming in Haskell does resort to diagrams to get his points across.

Marten (used to be Prograph), it is an object-oriented dataflow language. http://www.andescotia.com/. It is Mac based. I grant that many higher level concepts are hidden behind icons, but the dataflow has a natural feel to it. There are other "control" arrows to force computation ordering if necessary because dataflow is inherently parallel in concept.
