Here is a copy of the complaint I submitted to the Better Business Bureau. If I were to charge them for my time spent as a result of their incompetance, it would be a bill of $4800.00 at my current cunsulting rate.
"About the time AT&T took over @Home I tried to get a purchased Cable modem authorized to replace my leased modem. Due to problems with their authorization database, it could not be done. After a number of calls to support over a period of weeks, two of those calls resulted in them wanting to send a truck out to see if they could get it resolved. Since the problem was software related on their servers, I told them that a service tech would not be able to rectify it either. I was assured that I would not be charged if they couldn't get it authorized and they couldn't do it as I had told them, both times.
I don't have exact dates on these issues but I do have over 8 support ticket numbers on all the calls. Every time I have called, I have been told that they cannot access those tickets to get any information. The tickets were 885076, 1340254, 1356031, 1360218, 1381019, 1398948, 1404179 and 1451848. In every case I was promised a follow-up call and never recieved one. The most recent ticket was one where the billing dept. was supposed to address my billing issues, take off the service call charge, cancel charges for a second IP and bill only for a year in advance for 1 IP. I had already paid for a year in advance for 2 IP's.
What they did was to remove the yearly fee for 2 IP's and start sending me bills for monthly service, which is a greater cost to me, and add the charge for the service call where they did absolutely nothing to fix the problem they came out for. I canceled the second IP because their network department never resolved my issues with getting the second IP working so that I could communicate between my two servers over the internet. That was a problem with their internal network and those support calls were never responded to."
I actually think that I will now issue a bill to them for my time and send it by certified mail, along with a copy of this complaint.
The so-called civilians are future soldiers. Anyone who celebrates the death of other humans doesn't deserve to live. No sane human who has ever experienced war, delights in the fact that he has had to kill people to accomplish a goal. They celebrate because the death and destruction has ended.

I get livid when I hear things like this. The government is exploiting a tragedy here in order to pass another law to inhibit our freedoms. It is a travisty.
I'm going to start questioning this whole thing from a conspiracy standpoint. Haven't government anylists been saying all along that only a war could pull us out of this economic slump? Anyone notice that we closed our market, but the other world markets were negatively affected. The NIKKEI(sp) index dropped lower than the DOW for the first time since 1957, putting us ahead of the Japanese.
All a little suspicious to those who rightly don't trust our government. It would be just like them to, not only exploit this tragedy, but also perpetrate it. They don't garner my trust when they propose ridiculous laws like this one.

Recording copyrighted broadcasts from television is breaking the law. Copying music recordings of any type is breaking the law.

The Federal Government made him a martyr when they put him in a Federal Prison in solitary confinement for 4 years prior to him even getting a hearing prior to any trial. He was subjected to treatment almost as bad as POWs in wartime 3rd world countries. He was denied due process. His charges were trumped up in order to make an example of him.
Yes he commited a crime and yes he deserved to be punished, but his punishment went WAY beyond what anyone should deserve for what he did. He was never a threat to society by any stretch of the imagination. This sets a scary standard for procecution of these types of cases. This is almost as rediculous as a 10 year sentence for MJ use.

If anyone READ the articles and news stories, you would know that he is only restricted from any access to the internet by computer. He is not restricted from ANY computer use and it certainly doesn't include devices that are computer controlled. It also doesn't include devices that have electronic functions like crosswalks and appliances. These don't even contain computers. The just contain integrated circuits and store settings. They don't have CPUs, which is a requirement to be defined as a computer.
