Why should anyone be kind with Sony when Sony tried to install rootkits on our PCs? And when Sony tries to kill homebrew scene in PSP?
If I was a journalist, I would not help Sony at all!
Autopatcher is definetly THE solution, specially when you deal with different machines (and Ghost images aren't useful). 15/20 minutes and you're done.
I use Autopatcher regularly when a new pc is going out of my shop. And no WGA required!

Well, not really constantly... GSM cell phones ping the base station every 60mins. So at least every 60 minutes there's network activity. But if you move away from one base station, then the phone will have to register itself in another base station, making the activity interval potentially shorter.
