What you mean to say is that this was the way of the past and now that now we know that security through obscurity is ultimately too risky for crucial data.
It needs to be plainly shown once and for all that this model of "encryption" is too dangerous to be used and thus force the government to encourage open standards that can be tried and found true.
They alienated third party developers because they saw them as competitors.
The N64 set them back a few years because the cartridge was a HUGE mistake, the poor size of the carts limited the quality of sound, graphics and textures. Making it unattractive to companies like Square who drive ALOT of console and game sales.
The cube was a step in the right direction but Nintendo is obessessive compulsive about piracy and its unhealthy. Bite the bullet, accept piracy, Sony does, MS does and it seems to me it don't hurt them that much.
And just like Microsoft beat Sony in the game box market.
I'd hardly say they beat sony in the game box market. Sure the xBox had a good showing. I'd be more likely to say that the MS tossed nintendo out(coming into a near equal but not quite as good footing as sony). MS has a long way to go before they put Sony down for the count, hell even nintendo is here to stay for a while. Nintendo is the apple of consoles.
Why don't we tether(move closer, physically attach who cares) hubble to the ISS? Future repair missions costs would be negligible as we have people close by at all times with frequent trips up that could carry replacement parts and holy cow it could perhaps even justify ISS which is largely just a excercise in keeping people alive in space. Not that this is without merit but for crying out loud give them something useful to do.
Bum: Well, there are six schools of begging. Bad musician, messed up vet, cripple, fake cripple, religious zelot, and crazy guy. I think you would do well with crazy guy.
Homer(AKA you): Coke and Pepsi are the same thing! Wake up people!:gibberish:
Bum: Wow, now that is good crazy!
Lobbying in general is just how the system works. As constituents rarely if ever organize mass letter writing campaigns to congressmen anymore. Now I'm not saying I like big coporations with lots of money being able to lobby but the solution isn't to get rid of lobbying as a part of our legislative process it should be to form organizations that lobby for what you want.
It would seem we are commenting on the entirely wrong thing. Not our fault as the summary for this story is horrible. It wasn't just BrandChannel readers it was poll conducted by them and they chose a sample of company execs, analysts and academics and asked them "What is the most influential brand?". Look at this to find out more thouroughly what this poll was about.
According to this CNN article it would seem that this poll which is conducted annually is where you got the Coke is #1. As it has been at least in the top 5 in most of the past polls.
PETA already firebombed the Nintendo headquarters over Mario back in the 80's... SEGA made a title called "PETA's Revenge" capitalizing on the tragedy but it backfired. Christian groups were upset with the lack of churches in the video game landscape of 1980's japan.
Any other given day of the week complaining about/. being ____'s bitch would result in flamebait or troll(choice is random based on the whim of the first moderator).
Right but you are still ignoring the fact that no one consciously thinks about the Coke brand. Everyone knows what it is but so what, there ain't not discussion going on right now about the qualities of Cokes latest release. The prospects for the future or how they are positioning themselves for a "beverage revolution".
Apple, Pixr have recognition and penetration beyond what there sales would indicate. And thats because they are doing different things, getting media love and genuinely are in a position that could be huge succes or dismal failure.
Coke ain't going away but it sure as hell ain't going to increase sales dramatically anytime soon. So Coke is a boring topic.
While Coke, Pepsi, McDonalds, Walmart etc. are all bigger companies they don't have the same visibility in the media as Apple, Pixr, Al-Jazeera etc. No one is hyping it up about some new coke product, I didn't hear about any keynot speechs from the McDonalds CEO unveiling the latest burger trends. And pepsi didn't introduce some new product recently that dominated some new part of the market they previously weren't represented in.
The fact is the three brands you mentioned are all transparent. I have my preferences of Coke vs. Pepsi, McDonalds vs. Burger King etc but they don't have the cult following. We ignore those brands because they are giant and stable, they aren't taking any risks and they plainly don't have the media love that jobs and his babies have.
Considering what it costs blizzard to develop, ship, advertise, and to pretty up the packaging I think $50 a copy is a reasonable price. Basically people bitch about paying for anything. The normal model for you whiners is, can't afford so therefore I pirate. Well online play games like WoW are hard to pirate so I should piss moan and cry until I get my way.
You(aka smelly hippy): You can't OWN property man.
Me: I CAN but that's because I'm not a penniless hippy.
What a waste I could do that with my dell pc MUCH cheaper. All I'd need is 6 8ft 2x4s, a roll of ducktape and the A-Team theme song playing on my boom box(cheaper so therefore "better" than iPod).
Yeah how dare they charge you for providing the enormous bandwidth and network infastructure it takes to let you play your MMORPG!
Complaining about World of Warcraft proves that you are a fool who has no clue. If Blizzard(the maker of WoW in case you didnt know, with your ignorance I could hardly expect you to) could afford to not charge they would, notice how they haven't been charging to use Battle.net which allows you to play all their other games multi over the net. They provide ranking , chat and tournaments(they even give out prizes) all for your pleasure free of charge.
Moral of the story is get a clue, MMORPG can't exist without HUGE costs for the company providing the service.
Well of course. The idea of infinite growth is just plain silly. Its kinda hard to grow when you have cornered the entire market. You simply have no direction in which to grow. These profits are largely trumped up by personel savings. Until MSFT takes a huge dive they arent going to have any room for future growth.
AFAIK lots of films are shot in 1.33:1 and that the decision to do this on some films centers around the fact that 1.85:1 is sometimes difficult to shoot depending on the subject matter of the film. This was especially true in the old days.
I'm not sure what this pertains to as I didn't RTFA but you shouldn't be able to blot out yourself from pictures or video taken in public. you have no right or reasonable expectation of privacy in public and shouldnt be able to dictate whether or not I can take a picture of you with my camera or video tape you walking around picking your nose.
Holding the camera in such a way as to look up/down a womans dress/skirt is another thing altogether.
Nobody wants to be managed by somebody who doesn't want to and doesn't know how to be a manager or a leader.
On the contrary. It is my experience that most of the people who want to manage who want to lead are poor at doing that. They want the position to excercise power over those under their command. Now someone who doesn't want to manage/lead will undoubtably end up leading by example and by getting involved in the projects of his/her employees. This is in fact the best manager, one who not only knows what you doing but also how and is helping you with your projects.
The reluctant leader who just wants to see a job well done is always the best manager.
1st round: rock - scissor
2nd round: scissor - rock
3rd round: rock - scissor
Basically if both people use this strategy its whoever wins the initial round wins and thus there is no reason to ever play a full round. Also this strategy can be reversed it only works for you if i pick what gets defeated by my last choice. If i chose what defeats my last choice you will lose more often.
Any and all strategys for RPS are inherently flawed as the system is so completely balanced no pattern gives a better outcome against all other strategies. The only way to properly play RPS is to be completely random.
Space isn't the only concern in overpopulation. Consumption is. Currently we are consuming more resources than we can sustain so we are by definition overpopulated.
Take wolves for example. You can fit 5 billion wolves in australia. But would australia be able to sustain them without harming the enviorment? NO. Just like we are incapable of sustaining our current population without either harming the enviorment or drastic changes. Change could either be more efficient use and distrobution and consumption of resources or an overall reduction in people without increasing efficiently.
I'd like to disagree, over population is definitely happening right now. A 35% decline in the earths human population would be a return to a more reasonable number.
What does that have to do with anything? Having a disease/syndrome is vastly different than studying social factors.
I notice that people in africa are poorer than people in america. Also people in africa tend to be able to read/write alot less. Furthermore, african children are signifigantly behind American children in Math skills. Does that imply that Africans are stupider than Americans? No it does not. Correllation != Causality.
Any claim one can make about society that claims in demonstrated in current society patterns is immediately suspect by the fact that society has been engineered that way for thousands of years. Last I check men traditionally were educated for the past 2000 years so they would know how to trade with eachother etc etc. But it wasnt customary for women to get the same amount of education until VERY recently. So to say that women are worse at math/science is a claim that cannot be supported due to the dubiousness of the evidence.
The problem here is that basically any study is "fruit of the poisonous tree" so to speak. We have a society that has been keeping women out of those careers for generations and our child rearing habits are still reflecting keeping women cute and dainty rather than encouraging them to experiment and break/build things.
It actually reminds of the studies that showed blacks were dumber than whites because they were poorer. Also blacks cause more violent crime. While blacks as a general rule are arrested more and are poorer than whites the cause of this is hardly genetics but instead caused by a racially biased society. Same goes for anything you can conclude about women based on looking at societal trends. Its a sexist society of course women are going to be underrepresented in these careers and fields. The way we are raising them doesn't prepare them properly to excel in those fields.
It needs to be plainly shown once and for all that this model of "encryption" is too dangerous to be used and thus force the government to encourage open standards that can be tried and found true.
