Ground moving all the time? Too dangerous to put a power plant? You don't have to drill into a volcano. Hot rock projects in Australia are using fractured granites at depths of around 5KM. The surface of inland Australia isn't really known for moving all the time or being dangerous, despite what you might imagine about the wildlife.

Bear in mind that the carnivorous plants you're thinking about don't actively track and catch insects, but rather attract them with sweet excretions and close up like a trap when "trigger hairs" are touched. A plant doesn't really have any effective way to detect that insects are simply nearby.

BGP provides a reasonable way for organisations with backup links to an ISP to manage automatic failover. At ADSL speeds a PC is more than adequate and quite a lot cheaper than a Cisco 1700 series router with ADSL and ISDN WICs.
