  1. Re:More propietary crap on NVIDIA's Socket 775 Core Logic Coming Soon · · Score: 2, Insightful

Last time I checked, while ATI had better hardware than nVidia, their drivers were still poorly lacking. ATI seems to be able to come up with better/cheaper hardware (usually), but I have yet to see them come close to matching nVidia's drivers. nVidia updates their drivers more often, on more platforms, and supports more software* than ATI does. *by software, I mean games

Sure there is. Go here, http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Real_Alternati ve.htm Plays all the Real content that I have ever been interested in (which I can admit is very little.) (Additionally there are links to a Quicktime Alternative and Media Player Classic at that site as well.)

The fact that Norton Corporate Edition isn't supported in the Security Center is a GOOD thing. Norton Corporate Edition is often used as a managed program, which means that the server at the office running Norton Corp. can push virus definitions out when it chooses to. I assume that if you integrated the client versions of Norton Corp. with the Windows Security Center this would "break", or cause other problems, and probably piss off quite a few sys admins out there who want to be able to control when virus definitions are pushed to all the workstations. :)

...as charging gun manufacturers with murder when a gun is used to kill someone. Just because vehicles are used as "get-away cars" in bank robberies should we outlaw automobiles? How something is USED, and what something IS, are two completely different things. Guns can be used for good or evil, cars can be used for good or evil, p2p can be used for good or evil.

They aren't afraid. They just aren't stupid. They currently control the market, and aren't going to do anything dumb (like sitting back and not innovating) that will cost them their current throne in console gaming.
