the article reveals very little about Schmidt. I think Google PR is more upset that the article puts the finger on a huge vulnerability: once trust is lost, it can never be earned back.
I had a job interview over the phone with Jeff Bezos shortly after they launched (must have been Dec. 1995 or so). I got off the phone and my wife said, "He's a lot smarter than you, isn't he?";-)
I wanted to take the job, but couldn't afford the 20% pay cut to $33K...
Don't download Outfoxed.
It is very difficult to uninstall. Doesn't show up in Firefox 1.04's list of extensions, and the homepage has no instructions on how to uninstall.
Options page for Outfoxed freezes sometimes, your Firefox address line starts behaving strangely, and Firefox slows to a crawl. Boo, hiss.
Excellent point about funding adjusted for inflation. The problem (or opportunity!) is that the opportunities for unmanned space research are infinitely more attractive than they were in the 60s and 70s. This is the golden age of unnmanned planetary exploration. The money should go there.

Be grateful. I switched from US-EN 1.04 to 1.05, found the install didn't work, so switched to en-GB 1.04. ;-)
