Most of the games I've played in the last couple years, including games from reputable developers like Civ 3, took several patch releases to stop crashing every few hours. I'd rather have stable game play than left-handed animations.
You're welcome to write your own game with perfect grammar and art and animations for every conceivable scenario. You can make a website for it, get lots of fanboys in your forums speculating on how it will be the greatest thing ever, and every year or so post a fresh screenshot showing an early 90's UI and promising to definitely ship within the next year.
