Just occasionally if i have my ipod in a pocket which swings around while jogging it will skip (it seems to just load blank songs into its memory and not realise it) . In fact its a real pain. You have to stop, change to a completely different song (one which is not buffered) to get it to read from the harddrive.
Of course this doesn't happen that often. But then again i don't jog very often either:P
If this was strong enough (UV resistant ect) to last in space it might be much cheaper than conventional solar panels as it will be so much lighter.
Space is not really a problem in.... um space, what costs money is weight.
Nuclear power needs a good heat sink. The sea is a giant heatsink. Perhaps thats the reason.
