    1. A mass for a deceased person.
    2. A musical composition for such a mass.

    # A hymn, composition, or service for the dead

The common theme among the definitions is death.

Quite ironic because we all know the connection between this and the less than funny joke on BSD... Nevermind.

The reality is the government is taking away our freedoms slowly and those guns are not going to stop it.

Even though I agree with the apparent progressive undertones to your post.

It is important to note that the United States had slaves, people not entitled to any freedoms. The United States government discriminated against minority groups by law in many states. Just recently women were allowed to control their own reproductive organs via legalized abortions. Gays and others are now allowed to engage in anal sex each other in their private homes. People are even allowed to speak out against the President during war, not true during the Civil War.

So depending on your viewpoint; your rights in general as a private citizen have increased over the recent years, not decreased.

Many people point out the possibility for Chinese misuse of the technology, however, they are short sighted and should look in their own back yard. In western culture people value blond hair and blue eyes; which is the current almost universal concept of beauty primarily for white folks, and ironically was the basis of superiority for one of the ugliest totalitarian regime.

So saying all Chinese people will do is breed males, and ignore the fact that most white people will probably breed bloundes and blue-eyed perfect devils is facetious.

  18. Huh? on Linux on the Tipping Point · · Score: 3, Interesting

Linux is well ahead of the latest Microsoft products and so shines in such comparisons. It is not, however, remotely a leading edge system in the same class with the BSD family of Unix products and Sun's Solaris.

The BSD family of Unix is very large some may say it also includes HP-UX. Though if you include the open-source BSD's: Free, Open, and Net BSD. I would disagree that it is not even in the same class as them; as Linux has far more commercial support and technical features.

Also some may consider Windows NT based systems to be part of the BSD family, or atleast its TCP/IP stack.

In design, though, Linux and minix are fundementally different. Also I am sure Tanenbaum would disagree that Linux is a radically improved version of Minix -- as he is an advocate of microkernels.

Your post assumes Linux is somewhat unrealiable. In reality Linux is just as reliable as NetBSD. One of the advantages of the new development model is that bug fixes and poorly implemented subsystems are revised quickly, rather than being in a seperate tree for years.
In addition Linux for the 2.6 development model has implemented a vast test system and benchmark before each Linux release. There are more than 2,500 regression and stress testing benchmarking programs between releases.
NetBSD does not have this. And I do not know why Linux has to be mentioned in a NetBSD discussion.
