As far as I know, the NHS was, up until 2001, undertaking a huge COOL:GEN project. So maybe that fell apart.

The problem is that when you do that, the artist ends up making money, and that means that the people who really make money out of music (record companies etc) lose out and, being the greedy scum they are, start suing people.

I know there was a bug with 1.4_02 and the Radeon graphics card used in most laptops that caused some Java stuff with specific graphics functionality to crash.

Sorry that's not very helpful, but I'm an analyst, not a developer.

My bank uses one of these for online banking, as a protection against keystroke recorders. I suppose I'm just too lazy to actually get hold of one and try it. I figure they're not a bad idea, given that the majority of people trying to hack your accounts are amateurs who would be put off by it.

  8. Good news on Sybase Releases Free Enterprise Database on Linux · · Score: 3, Informative

This is, IMHO, a very good thing. Sybase is an excellent DB (I've worked with some top developers who swear by it) and a much better option than MsSQL for small projects where 1 proc/5Gb is more than enough (and there are lots of projects like that). Considering that no client I've ever worked with has been willing to go for PostgresSQL/MySQL (preferring MsSQL), this will be a welcome victory against Microsoft, as Sybase has a pretty good name in the db game.
