vivir is a regular -ir verb in Spanish. Vive would be the correct conjugation in Spanish as well. Vida means life. Maybe that's what you were thinking of. Viva would be the (3rd person singular) present subjunctive of the verb which would not apply in this case. You clearly don't know what the frack you are talking about. As long as we're still talking about Spanish, 'viva' is also the third person singular imperitive. Meaning he's commanding it to live, like "Long live..."
