The lower ratings might have something to do with the fact that the show is in its off-season right now. My guess is that these ads were in fact for the upcoming movie. I find it odd that Forbes didn't mention either fact.
But if I choose the budget version of Windows and find that it won't let me do something, well then I'm shit out of luck.
There has not been an announcement from Microsoft regarding the differences between the official versions, muchless even acknowledgement of different versions. So how did you come to this conclusion?
If they do exist, just think of these as distros of Windows, because that's all they are. Except that you pay for the extra applications, whereas in Linux they're generally free. Free software discussions aside, do you think that is also unfair that one must pay more for a nicer car over a basic car? They both get you from point A to point B, but one has more amenities that some people want.
For the record, MS supports both disc types. VC-1 is included in both specs. MS is publicly branded as being a major architect of HD-DVD, but in fact they are equally involved on both disc types...why choose a team when you can play both sides?
It does indeed work for logins. I have one myself. Good for the lazy one who wants to save a few keystrokes by just touching a finger to the red light.

What else do you think all those Duck and Cover videos were created for?

Actually, MS has all three. SquareEnix committed to putting out games for the 360. But I agree that's not really an advantage any more.
