The blob over Canada actually makes sense. The blob is located over Alberta, the countries #1 oil and gas producing province, and a major supplier of US oil.
Kind of interesting that it is such a small blob for the amount of refining, etc done.
That is true, size itself does not change UL/DL ratios...
However, the ratio will change over time. Being the only person on/. that will actually freely admit to downloading music and pr0n, I have seen how the ratios change based on file size and the time it takes to download said files.
If you download 1 pr0n movie, it is the equivelant of downloading 315000 MP3s.
Take it a step further, it may take you days to download 1 movie, and in the same time you could download half a million songs.
A step beyond that, while you are downloading with something like BitTorrent, you are also uploading at the same time. By the time you are done downloading your 1GB movie, you may have uploaded close to 3GB to other users. If you have a restriction on the amount you can upload, 1 'free' pr0n movie may end up costing you $30 or your high speed connection may be cancelled for repeated upload abuse. With MP3s, by the time you are done downloading 1 song, you have also only uploaded about half a song, and by the time your ISP starts threatening you for bandwidth abuse, you have already downloaded enough songs that you will have to listen to them 24 hours a day for 1312.5 days.
So in the end, it does actually cost you alot to download GBs of 'free' pr0n.
A quick Google search has netted the following:
OS - Linux, HPK (High Performance Kernel)
Complilers - Fortran95, C99, C++
Math Library - a subset of ESSL

India is sending a mission to the moon for about 8 cents per person. That is substantially cheaper than the American space program. What does it cost US citizens? $1 per person?
If I were to make suggestion, it would be that the US stop spending money on its space program and military programs; and starts spending it on things like debt reduction. It must be pretty embarrassing to have a quarter of the citizens of India, but have about 49 times the national debt.

XP only auto reboots if the option is selected.
System Properties --> Advanced --> Startup and Recovery.
When we build up our computers, we disable this option as we want to see any error messages as they happen.
I'm living in a dream world where the developer(s)/inventor(s) will share their findings (for free) with the world.
I agree, there aren't many profitable uses for a CO2 conversion process, but there would be many non profit uses for such a device; such as reducing atmospheric CO2 levels.
This is excellent news! We are one step closer to creating artificial photosynthesis, which would be extremely useful both in space and here on earth.
If we had the ability to convert CO2 back into O2, the benefits to mankind as a whole would be astronomical. Not only would we be able to make extended journeys in space, we would also be able to offset some of the environmental issues dirty industry produces.
I support an office which is running W2K on the servers (about 40 of them) and about 300 XP Pro workstations. Since switching from NT to XP, I would have to say that the failure/crash/reboot ratio has dropped considerably. Before the switch it was almost daily that I would have to tell someone to reboot their computer. With XP, I have never told someone to reboot their computer. In fact, my workstation (which gets abused alot more than users workstations) has been up for 4 months now without any issues. I think it all comes down to proper education for the users and IT personel; and proper administration of the computers.
Over the weekend I found a live recording of NIN playing The Legend of Zelda theme. If you are a fan, its well worth the download. (WinMX, search for NIN, it'll show up)

Its all about the numbers.

I think you are missing the main point...

Umm, I hate to break it to you, but I believe we store electricity in things called batteries and capacitors...
